The top-level domain (TLD) is found at the far right of the domain name. If you look up at the browser address bar, you’ll find our domain name, namecheap.com, and .com is the TLD.

Yes, domain extensions are the same as TLDs. They are also sometimes referred to as domain suffixes, URL endings, and TLD extensions.

Filter by ‘Type’ to see which of our TLDs are country code top-level domains (ccTLDs), and which are generic top-level domains (gTLDs). While ccTLDs are assigned to a particular country or region and their usage can be restricted, gTLDs are open to anyone, in any country.
Use this column to find the country or region that is assigned to a particular ccTLD. Although many ccTLDs are only reserved for individuals or businesses that operate within that country, some are open, and work just like gTLDs. We recommend that you set the following domains to auto-renew at least 12 days before the expiration date: .ch, .es, .com.es, .nom.es, .org.es, .fr, .li, .pe, .com.pe, .net.pe, .org.pe, .sg, .com.sg, .com.au, .net.au, and .org.au.
If your domain is not renewed or set to auto-renewal at least 12 days before the expiration date, it immediately enters the redemption period. Once in this state, it will not be possible to renew it at the regular price. Read more about renewal requirements.
We recommend that you set the following domains to auto-renew at least 5 days before the expiration date: .cx, .de, .eu and .nl.
If your domain is not renewed or set for auto-renewal at least 5 days before the expiration date, it immediately enters the redemption period. Once in this state, your website and other related services will stop working, and it will not be possible to renew your domain at the regular price. Read more about renewal requirements.
